Toshie and Friends

Preparing to talk tomorrow night to the Mackintosh Society on Toshie’s French years. Fortunately I don’t have to speak to them in French. But it’s always good to revisit an old subject and I’ve never been less than comfortable in Toshie’s company. Alannah and I joined forces just a few weeks ago to repeat ‘A Mackintosh Experience’ in the Library of Glasgow’s School of Art and a very touching experience it was considering the script could actually refer to the very room we were working in. The reaction was good and it confirms that Mackintosh is still a hot number in his native city.

Since it is also my native city, I have great pleasure in mentioning that on midday on Wednesday, 19 May, at the City Chambers, the Lord Provost, Bob Winter, on behalf of the Trades House of Glasgow, awarded me the title of Freeman Citizen of Glasgow – and gave me a certificate to prove it.
